| What
to look for in the field: |
Capitulescence is in the shape of a
corymb, though for few-flowered
specimens, the corymb may appear somewhat lax. Branching is minimal. |
Stems are thin, wiry and few-branched,
pubescent and becoming
glandular
upwards. |
Lower stem leaves are deciduous at flowering. Mid- to upper stem leaves
are numerous and crowded. They are
linear-lanceolate in shape, glandular,
and the edges are curled under slightly (revolute). |
Rays are pale blue-violet, pink or nearly white. Disc florets are yellow.
Heads are on long peduncles and are nodding in
bud. View image of involucre and phyllaries. |
