Ecology: Marsh, swamp or bog edges.
Blooming Period: August to September
Typical Height Range: 6" - 15"
Note:  Hybrid of O. acuminata and O. nemoralis.

 What to look for in the field: 
  Capitulescence is in the shape of a corymb, though for few-flowered specimens, the corymb may appear somewhat lax.  Branching is minimal.
  Stems are thin and wiry, often bent at the nodes and pubescent.
  Mid- to upper stem leaves are numerous, crowded, oblanceolate to narrowly elliptic, and glandular on the under-sides.  Largest leaves are at mid-stem.  Leaves gradually become smaller in size above or below mid-stem.
  Rays are pale blue-violet to pink.  Disc florets are yellow.  Heads are on long peduncles and are nodding in budView image of involucre and phyllaries.
