| Gland: A tiny structure, sometimes hairlike, exuding a sticky or
oily substance. May be present on various plant parts. Glandular: Bearing glands. Stipitate gland: A gland that is borne on a minute stem or stalk. Punctate gland: A gland that is recessed within a plant structure such as a leaf or petal; not borne on a minute stalk. (See lower example, below.) Eglandular: Not bearing glands.
