| In-lines: With reference to pubescence, growing in narrow rows or lines (A) or in broader bands (B), as along a stem or branch. That is, the pubescence does not occur evenly around the circumference of the stem or branch. Typically, the lines or bands occur immediately around and above leaf axils.
