Introduction

Welcome to this website!  I hope you'll find it interesting and informative.  This is an online field guide to the asters and goldenrods of the New England region.  With the exception of a few of the least common species, most of the known aster and goldenrod species are described here.  This website is an attempt to present information on asters and goldenrods in a form that is accessible to most naturalists, students and plant enthusiasts, and especially to provide clear and detailed photographic images of most of the species found in New England.

Though several years of intensive study have been devoted to this project, it is still a work in progress.  So, please revisit this site periodically, for additional information will frequently be added.  I wish you success in your study of asters and/or goldenrods.  It's a challenge, but a fun challenge.  Let's take the "spp." out of goldenrods and asters on our lists!
