This was one of those magical moments.   It had been a superb mid-autumn day.   The New England Asters  were in peak flower, usually timed to coincide nicely with the height of the monarch butterfly migration.   I enjoyed watching numerous individuals fly into, about and away from the meadow garden during the day.   About a half dozen of them were present at any given time, nectaring on the asters.   The sun was just about ready to set behind the tall trees in the nearby woods.    I had already been stalking a number of them, and noticed that these two landed on the same plant.   Never mind the tripod!   Just kneel,  compose and shoot!!   The opportunity doesn't usually return any time soon.
