Rose Pogonias (Pogonia ophioglossoides) used to be a lot more common than they are today.   Robert Frost even wrote a poem about them.   Diminutive creatures, they stand but 6" to 8" tall, growing in the peaty mat of bogs and wet meadows.   I had to wade into water almost knee deep at a bog to get the shot of these orchids.   One boot actually slipped into deeper water and got flooded.   Undaunted, I continued with the photography.   I suppose it was lucky I didn't sink to the bottom of the bog.   :)     The flowers are shown growing next to Marsh Fern  (Thelypteris palustris).
